Discover how physical, occupational, and speech therapy can support health, independence, and quality of life as we age. This session will provide an overview of each profession, explore common ways therapists help older adults maintain function and well-being, discuss how to access services when needed, and share practical strategies for healthy aging from each discipline's perspective.
Please welcome three guest speakers from the University of St. Augustine (USA) for Health Sciences:
Dr. Linda Barnett is an Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for Master and Doctor of Occupational Therapy students at USA. Dr. Barnett’s clinical experience includes diverse pediatric and adult rehabilitation settings including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, home health, early intervention and school-based pediatrics for more than 30 years.
Dr. Elizabeth DeLuca-Berg is an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy with 12 years of clinical experience with adults and older adults in skilled nursing, home health, Veterans Affairs, and community-based settings.
Dr. Amy Walters is an Associate Professor of geriatric physical therapy, medical screening, and wellness. Her clinical experience includes sports and geriatric physical therapy in outpatient and home health settings.
